A pleasant flight with Air China in business class. The service and catering were good though definitely not as polished. The FAs were all friendly and eager to help. The food was surprisingly good. The steak and lobster were flavorful and actually juicy not dry. The pre-arrival meal of beef noodles and seafood salad was also tasty and generously portioned. However there are parts of the service that were unusual such as the rich sweet chocolate ice cream as a "palate cleanser" before the start of the meal service. The bar was also barely stocked during the flight. Overall, similar to my prior experience, the flight was good but it was clear that the product is not as polished as it could be.
Filmed on Nikon D5500 with Sigma 17-50 f2.8mm lens. Despite the many negative reviews of Air China, I found myself on a comfortable flight with a very attentive and friendly crew. The crew were all smiles. They refilled/offered drinks constantly and addressed each passenger by name. One of the crew saw me taking videos and so she showed me around the business class cabin. We chatted about her own experiences of being a flight attendant at Air China. Perhaps the biggest lesson I learned was that apparently management does not fit in enough beds for the crew in order to save weight, therefore many FAs find themselves needing a first class or business bed to get enough rest to deal with the constantly changing time zones. This also happened at China Eastern where she worked at for four 4 year...
I usually only do videos of luxury hotels instead of airlines. As I can't find any video of Air China B777-300 Business Class, I made one myself. CA is a 3-star airlines only. Its international business class product is not bad. They provide good service and quite comfortable full flatbed. But because it's on 2-2-2 format, there is not much privacy if you travel alone. The food is acceptable, but make sure you take the Chinese option when you fly from China and the Western option when you fly from a western country.

For the full review, please visit my blog: https://travelingfoodyblog.wordpress.com/2016/04/19/trip-report-japan-airlines-business-class-on-the-boeing-787-dreamliner/ Overall, I give this flight a good 8 out of 10. The seats weren’t the best, and the abbreviated meal service was sort of a letdown. Although I do realize that this a short flight, and the efficient crew more than made up for what’s lacking.

Faced with severe congestion and pollution, China's capital has revealed ambitious plans to clean up its act. It aims to clear away thousands of illegal homes and businesses, but it may be the poor who pay the price. This flight had probably the most beautiful takeoff I have experienced thus far. We took off during a worsening blizzard. Once we broke through the clouds and climbed towards a setting sun, it really felt as though I was briefly on another world. For a long time I been waiting for the opportunity to experience the Hainan long haul business class. I have flown with Hainan in economy and domestic China business class, and had several flights where I found their FAs to be of 5 star level (Cathay and Singapore as my comparison). I have seen Hainan FAs treat passengers as though they were their own families, especially catering to the needs of elderly/disabled travelers or traveling mothers. It was certainly very impressive, and the benchmark I used to compare this flight to. In terms of sof...

SQ flight 807 was scheduled to leave around 5:00 but was delayed until 5:35. We landed about 25 minutes late in Singapore at 11:24pm. The Singapore lounge in Beijing is pretty descent. There's no showers but there are sleeping pods. The food is simple but rather tasty. The lounge atmosphere is quite nice. For boarding, we were welcomed by the presence of the wonderful Singapore flight attendants. We pushed back and waited for quite some time due to congested airspace. Once in the air, it was 5 hours and 35 minutes until touchdown in one of my favorite cities in the world, Singapore! The airplane is very quiet. Almost no noise of the engines. No amenity kits are handed out to business class passengers however, noise cancelling headsets, eyeshade, slippers, and socks are handed out. More am...
In complete contrast to my Hainan Airlines flights, Air China's old/regional business class is in need of a serious overhaul, which they do seem to be in the process of doing. The seats on this particular flight are angled lie flat, which are fine on a 3 hour journey but not great at all for red-eye flights. Food is always hit or miss with Air China. The breakfast at the business class lounge wasn't anything special or tasty. The hot food section was too small and really not up to the standards of Air China's regional competitors including the Taiwanese airlines. The flight was a very remote gate and the bus ride to the plane took about 20 minutes. We got a very good tour of Beijing Capital international airport and it is amazing how big the airport is. Onboard, I find myself in an old b...

Hi guys and welcome to this Beijing-Hong Kong review aboard Dragonair (soon to be Cathay Dragon) in Business Class. Last december I visited Beijing for a couple of days and used Cathay and Dragonair to get there. The first leg of this trip is already online, check it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SYc2Pm6xogM I did not record the HKG-PEK route and the HKG-DUS. This is the first leg of my return trip to Dusseldorf. Dragonair is part of Cathay Pacific and will soon be rebranded Cathay Dragon. I thourougly enjoyed that short domestic business flight, the seat was pretty good and the crew did a fantastic job. I had plenty to eat and it tasted delicious. Would go on Cathay/Dragonair anytime again! They have a great product. In this video for the first time I tried something new, you...

http://www.TravelsWithSheila.com Global Upgrades to Business Class came through without any aggravation and this flight even had empty Business Class rows. How come that doesn't happen when I'm waiting for a last minute upgrade? Duh? Good polar flight, delicious duck (would you believe that) and wonderful crew. Welcome to China!
